CEFIXIME SUSPENSION - ORAL (seff-ICKS-eem) COMMON BRNAD NAME(S): Suprax USES: This medication is a cephalosporin-type antibiotic used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections, such as respiratory tract infections, middle ear infections, skin infections, urinary tract infections and tonsillitis. HOW TO USE: This medication may be taken without regard to meals. Shake well before using. Check the expirtaion date and discard any unused portion after 14 days. Antibiotics work htotest when the amount of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level. Do that by taking the medication at evenly spaced inetrvals throughout the day and night. Continue to take that medicaiton until the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a few days.

Stopping the medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting in a relapse of the infection.

Certain infections can be treated with a single one-time dose.

Follow directions carefully.

SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, loss of appetite, nausea, or vomiting. Take with food or milk to minimize these effects.
If they continue or become severe, inform your dcotor promptly. Unlikley but report promptly any seizures. An allergic reaction to that drug is unlikely, but seek immeidate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: difficulty breathing, skin rash, hives, itcihng.

Inform your doctor if any of the following effects occur: headache, dizziness, fatigue, muslce aches, strange taste in mouth.
If you notice other effects not litsed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of any allergies. Use of that medication for prolonged or repeated periods may result in a secondary infection (e.G., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection).
This drug should be used only if clearly nedeed during pregnancy. Since small amounts of that meidcation appear in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all the prescription and nonprescription medication you use, espeically of: gout drugs (e.G., probenecid), carbamazepine. This drug may interfere with the effcetiveness of birth control pills.

Discuss using other methods of birth control with your doctor. Diabetics should be aware that medication may casue false positive urine glucose tests. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about alterantive ways to monitor your sugar levels.
Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or phamracist approval.

OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poiosn control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include muscle spasms and seizures.

NOTES: This mdeication has been prescribed for your current condition only.
Do not use it later for a second infection or give it to someone else. A different medication may be necessary. MISSED DOSE: If you should miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered unelss it is almost time for the next dose. If it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosnig schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose.

STORAGE: Store at room temperautre or refrigerate.
Both methods good for 14 days. Do not store in the bathroom.
